Tipping In Poker

There is a little known talked about element of NL Texas Hold 'Em that is often never talked about and I know I havent seen an article on WDIAV about it yet so I thought I would put it out there and see the response I get back.  I asked myself this question after watching the WSOP on TV.  A few times I have seen the winning player throw a few dollars towards the dealer at the table.  So I asked myself is Tipping the dealer at the poker table accetable??  I would have to say yes but what do you tip if your only in a ring game a a casino.  Well I guess if would depend how much you sit down a the table with and how much you won on that hand.  Granted you are not obligated to do it but i think it is in good form if you do.  Then that brings up another question.  Do you tip per win or wait to you leave the table then throw the dealer a few bucks if you leave a winner?  Again this all depends if you think tiping the dealer per win hurts your bankroll enough not to do it.  I would say if you ron the lowere stakes tables .50 / $1 is a good tip per hand won if the flop is seen.  If you fold and everyone folds around then I think the dealer would understand you not tipping on that.  If you happen to win a huge pot you might wanna throw in a few extra to the dealer!!  Probably $5 i sthe most I would go on any given hand no matter what the stakes unless you rlike IVEy and them playing in that Big Money game in Vegas then they might throw a few hundred down!  If you win money in a tournment im not sure if you should tip there or not unless you win.  Im not sure how tournament dealers get paid but im sure every little bit helps!
